"During the show, only an absence will be visible."

Once i have been asked to do a exhibition in Leipzig, instead of showing anything, I decided to use a part of the gallery floor to explore the Saxe romantic tradition.

By avoiding the diplomatic task of exhibiting one of my sacred production, i realized another task, the one of going against the flow of time, of artistic current. For a short time, i left Malewitsch and the Modernists ideal in order to embrace Caspar David Freidrich contemplative attitude, which made his way threw the same landscape, a century ago. I then return the piece to it’s original place.

From abstraction to figurative landscape..and back.

Project realized following a one month residency at Fugitf, with the help of Schaubühne Lindenfels.
